Opportunities!! |
Central Prairie Resource Conservation &Development
(RC&D) welcomes volunteers of all ages and levels of
ability in our projects. We are proud of the dedicated
Earth Team volunteers who commit their time, talent, and
energy to address the needs and opportunities that exist
within local communities. Our neighbors helping
neighbors mission is to enhance the quality of life
while realizing economic growth in harmony with natural
resources. Our belief that we can strengthen
communities by providing service opportunities is
reflected in the diversity of our council board and
committee members from all walks of life. RC&D has
literally hundreds of projects you can do to make a
difference in someone’s life, or why not organize your
own project with our help?
CP RC&D needs a variety of people with varied skills and
talents. Love kids? Volunteer to help children learn
through day camps, classes, tours or exhibits. Are you
a technology whiz? We have a website, promotional CD’s
/DVD’s to create and burn, and memory books from our
Honor Flights to produce from testimonials, pictures,
videos, and etc. donated by prior fliers. Do you like
working in an office atmosphere? Clerical duties are
always needed. Are you an organizer / leader?
Community outreach needs volunteers to organize and
develop, as well as monitor projects. Do you have the
knack to write newspaper or magazine articles? Good
public relations are instrumental to sustaining the
viability of RC&D programs. Artistic talent is needed
for posters and publications. Are you good at building
relationships with legislators and their staff at all
levels of government? Contact elected officials and
become an advocate for a better future by influencing
public policy for change and reform. And for our newest
project, do you enjoy travel while caring for WWII
veterans? Please sign up and make a donation as an
Honor Flight guardian.
Council member volunteers take an active role in the
development of CP RC&D’s Annual and Area Plan of Work,
service projects, submit project ideas, and help recruit
additional volunteers. As a 501 C (3) tax-exempt
non-profit organization, service-learning programs
expose, educate, challenge and motivate participants to
respond to issues and concerns facing an increasingly
urbanized world, while donations are tax-free. Major
emphasis is placed on programs, management techniques,
and leadership development skills necessary to increase
visibility of programs, growth in membership, an
increase in volunteerism, and public awareness of RC&D.
Call or send an email to Dan or LaVeta today if you’d
like to volunteer. Refer to the “Contact Us” page for
information. We look forward to meeting you and working
together. Remember: Nothing is impossible for those who
don’t have to do it themselves! |
