This shocked my memory to no end. They were loosing aircraft wholesale.  In Holland a country half the size of Kansas they found 7,000 YES 7,000 aircraft from Britain, USA and Germany shot down during WW I and WW II.  That is very sobering. We owe these people that flew and died an
unbelievable debt for without them we be goose stepping in the kitchen to get our dinner on the table.
