CENTRAL PRAIRIE HONOR FLIGHT

Central Prairie Resource Conservation & Development (RC&D) Council has partnered with the National Honor Flight Network to produce the Central Prairie Honor Flight Hub based in Great Bend, Kansas. Our mission is to get World War II veterans to their memorial in Washington DC – now, before it’s too late. We are losing this generation of heroes at an alarming rate of 1,800 per day. The RC&D volunteers currently in eight counties (Barton, Edwards, McPherson, Pawnee, Pratt, Reno, Rush, Stafford) are reaching out to partner with businesses, communities & individuals to help sponsor these flights so that there is no cost to the veteran.  Donations are 501 (c) (3) tax deductible.  Time is of the essence to file completed applications for veterans interested in participating in an Honor Flight. We are diligently trying to identify & contact every World War II veteran first to offer them this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity, and then continue the process with Korean & Vietnam era veterans.
