Responsibilities

Thank you, for your desire to sponsor a World War Two veteran.
It is our hope that this will be a rewarding experience for
each Veteran, as well as for you. We are looking forward to
working with each of you. As we take these flights, it is our
intent to make these flights as memorable as we can. We
cannot make these flights happen without your assistance. |
|
Guardian Responsibilities throughout the Honor Flight
Experience: |
1- Know
your veteran’s Limitations and Medications, INCLUDING (i.e.
How far they can walk?
Need wheelchair? Medical issues? Diabetic
issues? Etc.). |
|
2- Make sure that your veterans know you. |
|
3-
Know where your assigned veterans are at all times. |
|
4-
Help load and off load the aircraft. |
|
5-
Help load and off load
buses. |
|
6-
Help load and off load
wheelchairs. |
|
7-
Assist with meal distribution. |
|
8- Carry first aid kit & Permanent Marker (ID hats, bottled
water, souvenirs). |
|
9- Hydrate and care for your veterans. (Help them…caps on the
bottles, etc!). |
|
10-
Report all injury and major fatigue issues to your leaders. |
|
11-
Carry a cell phone with you for emergencies. |
|
12-
Know your trip leader, bus driver, & trip doctor’s cell phone
number. |
|
13-
Assist your veterans to their rooms each evening. |
|
14-
Each Veteran has a red shirt, name tag, and cap for ID
purposes. |
|
15-
Zero Tolerance ~ Alcohol, Illegal drugs usage at all during
the trip!!!!!!! |
